For Creators
We’re building the Dialect Data project with the help of creators like you! If you’d like to contribute, here’s how to get involved:
What We’re Looking For
- Natural conversations in everyday settings—cafes, homes, markets, farms.
- Video preferred (shows gestures, lip movement).
- Each conversation should be at least 10 minutes long.
- Dialects: Levantine Arabic from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, or Yemen (or other regional varieties).
- Avoid personal details (names, phone numbers) and sensitive topics (politics, religion).
Quality Guidelines
- Use the best recording device you have—smartphones are fine, just make sure the sound is clear.
- Choose a well-lit area for videos (natural light is great).
- Keep the camera steady—use a tripod or prop your phone against something stable.
- Speak naturally—talk about food, family, daily life, stories, local culture.
Compensation and Rights
We offer transparent, per-project compensation for each accepted recording. Rates depend on length, quality, and specific project needs, and we share all details with you before you start.
- Keep personal details out of recordings—no phone numbers, addresses, or ID numbers.
- Dialect Data receives permission to include approved clips in anonymized AI training datasets.
- Recordings are never used for surveillance or harmful applications.
FAQs for Creators
- How do I get paid? We confirm the scope, share the rate, and pay upon acceptance of each bundle.
- How long are projects? Most recording sets are 10–30 minutes, grouped into small batches.
- Can I invite friends? Yes—refer friends who speak different dialects or age groups, and we’ll onboard them directly.
- What about safety? We avoid sensitive topics and remove any personal identifiers before delivery.
